Delaware County Estate Planning Council
Welcome to the Delaware County Estate Planning Council!
Now in its 39th year, the Council is a group of estate planning professionals who meet monthly for educational and social programs that advance the study of estate planning and foster cooperation among the members. Our Council is a member of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.
Our members are drawn from diverse estate planning disciplines including law, accounting, financial planning, banking, insurance, non-profit organizations and actuarial science. New members are encouraged to join the Council and take advantage of the rich variety of educational and social programs that the Council offers.
In recent years, the Council has attracted top regional speakers who addressed the most pressing issues that affect the practices of the members. That tradition continues during our 39th year, from September 2009 through April 2010 For a list of upcoming meetings, please see the menu below. Dinner meetings normally are held at the Towne House Restaurant in Media, Pennsylvania
In addition to our dinner meetings, the members enjoy a holiday social and joint meetings with other estate planning councils.
As stated in the Council's By-laws the group was formed with the following objectives:
1. To foster intelligent cooperation and a cordial understanding among the members as to the proper relationship between the functions of the attorney, accountant, life underwriter, trust representative, charitable giving advisor and others engaged in the field of estate planning; and
2. To assist its members in keeping abreast of laws and conditions affecting business and personal taxation and the problems of estate accumulation and conservation as to improve the knowledge of each member within his or her sphere and with objectives; and
3. To encourage its members to have as their ultimate goal the rendering of the best professional services to the public; and
4. To encourage its members to diligently pursue professional certification, where available, in their respective professional fields.
